Install & Offline Use (PWA)

Install the XML comparison tool as an app and use its local comparison features offline.

Compare XML is available as a Progressive Web App (PWA). You can install it on your computer and use the editors and local XML comparison offline.

Install on Desktop

  1. Open Compare XML in Chrome, Edge, or another Chromium-based browser.
  2. Click the install icon in the address bar, or open the browser menu and choose the install action.
  3. Confirm installation. The app opens in its own window and appears in your applications list.

Installation availability and wording depend on your browser and operating system.

Offline Use

Open the app at least once while online so its required resources can be cached. After that, you can open it without a network connection and compare XML locally as usual.

Offline mode does not make network features available. Remote URL imports, loading a shared snapshot, and creating a share still require connectivity, and a remote source must also be reachable.

Updates

The app updates automatically. When a new version is published, it is downloaded in the background and takes effect after the app is reopened or reloaded.

Uninstall

  • Desktop: Open the installed app, open the menu in the title bar, and choose Uninstall. You can also manage installed apps from your browser settings.
